Epoch Sparks turns historical ideas, objects and figures into compact pixel-art stories. Each subject is a starting point for exploring the discoveries and cultural changes that shape cities and everyday life.

A guide to the metadata
What do the traits mean?
Traits are named metadata fields describing the artwork and its story. Use them to recognise a piece, compare visual variations and follow the collection’s themes.
Field names below keep their original metadata spelling so you can recognise them in a collection listing.
- Era · Historical Date · Region
- Place the subject in its historical context: the period, the recorded date or date range, and the associated region. Dates can be approximate.
- Theme · Subject Type · Subject
- Describe the contribution and its subject: a shared theme, the kind of subject, and its name. These fields connect the image to the story behind it.
- Representation · Viewpoint
- Describe how the subject is pictured, such as an object icon or a scene, and the angle from which it is shown.
- Palette · Background Color
- Palette describes the color treatment of the foreground artwork. Background Color is a separate field for the color behind it.
- Interpretation
- Distinguishes visual interpretations of the same historical subject. It is not a level, power or reward multiplier.
- Historical Rank
- A curatorial ordering of historical impact, not an objective ranking of history, a rarity score or an estimate of market value.
- Edition Class
- Identifies an edition category in the prepared collection. It does not establish an access tier or an entitlement.
What can they be used for?
For now, explore the artwork, read the character or historical story, and compare the traits. This page is a collection guide, not a playable inventory or a mint.
